lisa alcocer peters

elisa alcocer peters (b. 2003, missouri) is a mexican-american multi-disciplinary artist. her practice includes painting, photography, and collage. peters experiments with modular self-portraiture as a means of building a body and exploring alternate versions of herself. her sensibility to rich hue and pattern is reflected in paintings of family, friends and colleagues—like a type of energy or spirituality, calling to her desire to save feelings and sensations associated with memory as if they were files. peters allows spatial oddities to exist amongst her subject matter, inviting viewers to question the permanence of each image.
